The country’s leading automotive and mobility company Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has reintroduced one of its most iconic nameplates, the Toyota Lite Ace, as a Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) stepping in as the reliable business partner for Filipino business owners and entrepreneurs. The All-New Toyota Lite Ace was officially unveiled today at Farmers Plaza in Araneta City, Quezon City – one of the busiest commercial centers and marketplaces in the country that serve as a hotspot for flourishing businesses.
“With the introduction of the All-New Lite Ace, we are responding to the long-time request of our customers for Toyota to introduce a light commercial vehicle,” TMP President Atsuhiro Okamoto told spectators at the unveiling event. “We are confident that the All-New Lite Ace is a game-changer, not just in uplifting the auto industry, but more importantly in improving the way homegrown businesses move people and goods.”

TMP President Atsuhiro Okamoto, Vice Chairman David Go and Senior Vice President for Marketing Masatoshi Toiya
TMP is taking pride on the reach of its 72-strong dealership network nationwide to bring the All-New Lite Ace to more businesses in various industries across the country, especially in regions where efficient transportation is critical to the timely delivery of goods and services.
TMP’s entry into this new category is also boosted by Toyota products’ signature QDR (Quality, Durability, and Reliability) that suits the demands of MSMEs needing the most returns out of their every investment. This also translates to minimal downtimes for the vehicle, ensuring business continuity and avoiding time and financial losses or extra expenditures for repairs. With this, we are assuring that the All-New Lite Ace is an easy-to-acquire vehicle, giving MSMEs ease when purchasing.
LITE ON THE POCKET, HEAVY ON PERFORMANCE
Through Toyota Financial Services Philippines (TFSPH), TMP is offering the All-New Lite Ace under unique financing packages that allow customers to acquire units under a weekly payment scheme with rates that go as low as Php 2,903.50 per week (Pickup). This makes investing in a Toyota commercial vehicle easier and more accessible for those who are looking to start or expand their own local businesses.
The All-New Lite Ace currently comes in two variants – the Pickup with an open bed for fast and flexible loading, and the Panel Van with sliding enclosure for a more secure cargo transport. Both the Pickup and Panel Van have heavy-duty and wide capacity, perfect for any heavy-load transportation needs.
The Panel Van is ideal for businesses like e-commerce parcel transportation and the Dropside Pickup can be utilized for agricultural and industrial needs. TMP will continue to grow the lineup as the Aluminum Van ideal for dry goods transport and the Utility Van fit for transporting manpower are expected to be introduced by September 2022.
The All-New Lite Ace is powered by a 1.5L gasoline engine and 5-speed manual transmission. It also comes with practical convenience features like electric power steering and air-conditioning system. Aside from being a reliable partner in efficiency, the All-New Lite Ace also gives importance to the safety of its users through SRS Airbags, Anti-lock Brake System and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) for the Panel Van.
The Pickup Lite Ace retails at Php 570,000 while the Panel Van Lite Ace has a retail price of Php 655,000 and both come in White color. Upon its launch, the All-New Toyota Lite Ace will be offered with Free Periodic Maintenance for 1 year/20,000kms.

Oben Group introduces virtual showrooms for its dealer network
A way to connect with its customers in the new normal
SEPTEMBER 16, 2020 Source: https://visor.ph/
Malasakit in translation would necessarily mean concern or compassion. However, this endearing Filipino word holds an even deeper meaning as it revolves around the very center of unconditional love. This has been the driving force of the Oben Group even before the coronavirus pandemic began. Its “malasakit” approach towards team members and clients today is now more relevant than ever given the challenges brought about by the ongoing health crisis.
Quickly adapting to the new normal for car buyers, the Oben Group is the first dealer network under Toyota Motor Philippines to introduce the virtual showroom as a significant part of the customer experience during the pandemic. The whole idea is to provide an immersive experience within the safety of one’s home when shopping for a vehicle. This also includes other services provided by their dealerships.
Furthermore, the digital transformation aims to optimize the balance between keeping the strictest possible health safety standards while sustaining productivity through sales and exemplary customer services the Oben network is known for. Malasakit, in a virtual or digital sense, goes above and beyond for both customers and team members by supporting that ever important connection with clients while contributing to solutions that would help the automotive sector overcome the coronavirus pandemic and support essential, safe mobility for Filipino families with Toyota Motor Philippines’ wide selection of reliable and attractive products.
The group initially planned on having the virtual showroom outsourced. But when the firm’s own IT Heads found out the considerable expense for the project, they decided to take on this endeavor instead and saved the company some money in the process. This is perfect example of “malasakit” in practice, one of the Oben Group’s eight core values.
The Oben Group has expanded its dealer network to six showrooms in total. Listed below are each dealership’s contact details along with its respective virtual showroom web links:

In addition, the group will launch the first-ever used car virtual showroom in October 2020. To demonstrate the virtual showroom features, here is a quick walk-through video of the Balintawak showroom.
As long as there’s a fairly fast and stable internet connection or mobile data, one can easily explore the contents and features of the service using a personal computer or a smartphone. It’s not perfect, but the virtual showroom experience will be continuously improved. After all, it is the Oben Group’s way of caring for the health and welfare of customers and its workforce.
OBEN GROUP breaks social distancing wall, harnesses full potential of cyberspace to serve more Toyota PH clients amidst the pandemic
It’s no surprise by now that the health and economic challenges of the global pandemic called the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) have put Filipinos to the ultimate test of survival, resiliency, and unity. As Filipinos, however, the toughest challenge today brings no reason to just give it up and let things go the “Bahala na (come what may)” route.
Take for instance, Mr. Don Juan Miguel Oben, the President of the OBEN GROUP of Toyota Dealerships.
Known in the industry as “Cosco”, he saw the light in the darkness that hurtled his company’s growth at the start of the pandemic onslaught earlier this year. Case in point, his company utilized the power of cyberspace technology to still be of service to Toyota Philippines customers worldwide, all without compromising public safety and comfort.
To break down the barriers of physical distance and still let customers from anywhere in the world see the benefit of its products and services, the OBEN GROUP, which comprised of Toyota Balintawak, Inc., Toyota Otis, Inc., Toyota North EDSA, Toyota Marilao, Bulacan Inc., and Toyota San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan, supplemented its equally safe physical showrooms with online Virtual Showrooms, unique to each of the said Toyota dealerships.
Cosco proudly launched this initiative himself during the July 27 episode of James Deakin’s “TitoClock” on Facebook Live.
In the said episode, Cosco highlighted the advantages of the OBEN GROUP Virtual Showrooms, most prominent of which is the fact that it can be accessed by anyone from the safety and comfort of their homes, using any device with the web browser of their choice. This means that you, this author, and everyone else at home with a desktop/laptop computer, smartphone, or tablet can just log on to any of the OBEN GROUP Toyota Virtual Showrooms while sipping coffee or relaxing in bed, all protected from COVID-19.
Through its Virtual Showroom, the OBEN GROUP showcases its vehicle portfolio through which customers can safely discover and engage with its entire product range as displayed in the physical showrooms, anytime, anywhere. As such, one can browse all vehicles in the showroom, and explore variations, configurations and technical details available for each unit.
Cosco said that the virtual experience starts with a visit to any of the OBEN GROUP Toyota Virtual Showrooms below.
- Toyota Balintawak
- Toyota Otis
- Toyota North EDSA
- Toyota North EDSA Service Center
- Toyota Marilao
- Toyota San Jose Del Monte
From there, customers can enjoy the sites’ quirky features such as 360-degree photo tours of the showroom interior and exterior as seen in real life, 360-degree photo tour of each car display model’s interior and exterior features, and the option to check out, in detail, each Toyota model’s technical specs, to cite a few.
Moreover, an online guided tour through the Virtual Showroom by a Marketing Professionals can be easily set to make the virtual experience more comprehensive, arriving at a purchase decision without even having to drive the vehicle. But the OBEN GROUP didn’t stop there as it goes the extra mile to make service all worth it, literally. That’s because upon securing a purchase, clients are also given the option to have their units delivered to their homes.
In conclusion, Cosco takes pride in his entire team, the Management Information System (MIS) Team which created the unique Virtual Showrooms with creativity in mind. The fact that this initiative was made by OBEN GROUP’s home-grown talents at a time when digital innovations are needed the most, makes this project all the more worthwhile.
